Letter from the Publisher

Some people believe that everything comes full circle if you wait long enough. I know nothing of such things, but I do think that something a little bit special is happening in my own family right now.

It’s certainly been an interesting Summer for me. It’s been filled with firsts like breaking my ankle two days before a week-long vacation to Florida. One day after that, my wife and I went to Grand Forks for some last minute shopping for our vacation.

Allen and Carol McConnell of Greeley, Colo., arrived Tuesday to visit at the home of Gayle McConnell; they returned home the following Monday. Janell Nyegaard of Hallock visited Merv and Phyllis Holter on Thursday.

I have really enjoyed my time getting to know Drayton better. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I dove into this role. As I’ve had some time to reflect, I notice that things look unexpectedly different behind the lens of a publisher. I can tell that I am more recognized now.

Jesus’ parable of the Sower and the Seed presents a rather sobering reality regarding people’s response to the Gospel message. A farmer sows some seed scattering it in the field by hand. Some seeds land on the walking path, and are quickly picked up by birds (Mark 4:4).
