The signs are all there. My light jacket is within reach at all times now. Harvest equipment is showing up and looking field ready. The back-toschool supply lists have been sent out and reminders from the school say it’s time to register for another school year, AKA, winter.

I didn’t have any real plans to write a column while I was recovering, but I’ve found it to be quite the comfort honestly. It’s kind of like journaling with a deadline and it's coming easier to me than reporting at the moment.

Dear Editor, My left foot: part two. Compared to the situation Christy Brown, author of MY LEFT FOOT found himself in, my problems with mine are very,, very minor. Due to cerebral palsy, his left foot was the only body part he could control. It seems to be the body part over which I have no control.

We are what we eat, so they say. The stores are full of ready-to-go items and of course, all the rest can be confusing if you don’t know what to do with it. Learning how to cook is a life skill that every person should learn. I’ve been teaching my oldest kiddo.

Polish Cucumber Salad {Mizeria}

Ingredients 1 English cucumber (or 6-8 small pickling cucumbers) 1/4 tsp salt 2/3 cup sour cream 1 tbs of fresh dill Squeeze of a lemon Pinch of pepper Instructions Wash and peel the cucumber. Slice thin. Add salt and let sit for 10 minutes.
