Friday, Nov. 4 marks the opening of the 2022 North Dakota Firearms deer hunting season. The deer youth season and archery season are already open, but Friday is what is traditionally known as “the opener” statewide.

There are 15 states that have enacted term limits on their state legislatures. There are also 36 states which have term limits on their governors. Our state now has the opportunity to join both lists as it votes on Constitutional Measure 1 at the ballot box next month.

Citizens were fought tooth and nail, all the way to the North Dakota Supreme Court, by the establishment in Bismarck seeking to preserve its own power. They trumped up false allegations against a group seeking to put legislative and gubernatorial term limits on the ballot in November.
