As we all know, the first few days of Christmas break were not exactly ideal. The last day of school wound up being another virtual day and counting it as the first day of Christmas break I averaged over four hours a day shoveling and blowing snow for the first three days of break.

The truth is always a little more complicated than a headline. Having been in the news business for about 40 years now, I’ve often said how easy it is to slant the facts to fit an objective. More concisely, how just a few words contained within a story can make it positive, negative, or neutral.

Vacation is over and it’s back to school for our area children. I love this! I like having a routine, a schedule to follow, and knowing what to expect out of our day-to-day comings and goings. Winter break, although a great amount of fun, gets me all out of sorts.

Just like that, the holidays are behind us for another 12 months and the new year is upon us. Do you have a new year’s resolution? I’ve never been in the habit of choosing something to resolve.

This week at the school has been pretty eventful, and between dissecting animals to concerts, it has been a fun one. On Monday, the week started with the elementary school having STEM labs, then midway through the day, the high school and 6th grade had a “house teams'' event.
