Merv Holter went to Bayfield, WI, Saturday Sept. 11th near Apostle Islands to join a group of 9 men which included his son Craig Holter of Willmar. They sailed Lake Superior and returned Wednesday.

Buffalo Hide Tipi by Alyssa Boge September 20, 2021 — The iconic tipi is specific to certain tribes, including the Dakota. It was useful for moving across the prairie. Women prepared the leather by brain-tanning and smoking buffalo hides, which made the soft, suedelike material waterproof.

There are always two sides...

We know that there are always two sides to every issue. Circulating social media at the moment is a post that highlights one side of the face covering issue. While we navigate the issues that surround keeping the mass majority of people safe from the pandemic there really are no easy answers.

A rare gift...

Late last week I was told that someone that I care very much for was on hospice. I had a choice to make do I go and see this person one last time, or do I keep all the commitments that were in my personal calendar.

Oh man, those desserts.

What do Lawrence Welk, The Beatles, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff all have in common? Actually, lots of things, the most obvious being they are all musicians. I truly hope all of you got that answer correct. The fact that they are musicians leads us to the next part of the question.

North Dakota has become a one-party state with little hope for the Democratic Party to rise out of the ashes like a phoenix and magically create a competitive two-party system.

Letter to the Editor: MASK OR VACC? For about a year we have been ordered to wear a mask or get vaccinated to be safe from the U.S.-funded Wuhan or Chinese virus. Call it what it is. Past viruses were named for where they originated, so why not this one? The Chinese thrive while we shut down!
