Our Place By Saralee Hoselton On Saturday morning members of the Covenant Church of Kennedy came to Tisdale Manor and offered their services to the residents to clean apartments or do other chores. After cleaning they served noon lunch to any who wanted to come to the dining room.

Musings...Time for a contest

Since I was first told that I had survived a stroke in the womb, and especially since I had my stroke a few years ago, I have been trying to come up with a design for a T-shirt to wear during National Stroke Month. So far I have had very little luck.

Life in the slow lane?

It seems like I came back from Arizona in the spring just a day or two ago. I must have blinked because it is almost time for me to return to my winter home once again. The snowbirds are starting to depart for warmer temperatures little by little, and I will be leaving soon as well.

What are you and your family doing for Halloween? Hopefully, if you have littles running around the house, or even teenagers, your family was able to take advantage of the festivities that Booster Club provided with their Halloween activities on Saturday.

If you didn’t read my article last week, kindly skip to paragraph two. If you’re still here, you may be wondering how the wish reveal turned out. It went really well! There were far more in attendance than I expected and that caused a bit of nervousness, but I got through it without anyone noticing.

Both Dakotas turn 134 on Nov. 2

Happy Birthday to both North Dakota and South Dakota. You look good for your age. November 2 marks the 134th anniversary of statehood for both North Dakota and South Dakota, which were signed into the Union on that date in 1889.

Since the October 7 Hamas invasion of Israel, the primary topic on the news has been the events that have followed. An interesting side note to the event has been the response of many around the world to Israel’s counter-offensive to defeat Hamas and free two hundred-plus hostages.

For those of you who know me, you know I am a person of little words. I prefer to blend in and not be too much of a presence. I do, however, have excellent public speaking skills when I have to take the stage, even though I prefer not to. Why am I telling you this?
