What a beautiful fall we have experienced with the warm days, gardeners have been blessed with keep us outdoors and motivated to prepare our gardens and yards for the next growing season and perhaps even allows to make changes to our garden beds or landscape.

Fall is in the air and apples are plentiful

This week I was gifted some wonderful apples. I have been busy making pies and apple crisp. Next up is a favorite. Apple Cream Pie Line a pie plate with an unbaked crust. Fill 1/2 full of small thinly sliced apples.

The Gourmet Gardener

Carrots come in all shapes and sizes and are one of my favorite vegetables. Carrots are relatively easy to grow if you get them planted early and give them plenty of light waterings while germinating. They normally take about three weeks to germinate.

Senior Citizen Update

Pembina County Meals & Transportation is pleased to announce that on July 1, 2021, Congregate Meals for senior citizens will resume being served at the three meal sites in Pembina County: the Drayton Senior Citizen Center, the Walhalla Inn, and Thompson’s Café in Cavalier.
