Webisode series featuring North Dakota specialty crops back for third year

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring announced the release of three more webisodes in their original series, Fresh from North Dakota, featuring North Dakota specialty crops. The first of three webisodes was released August 6, with an additional webisode coming each Wednesday through Aug. 20, 2025.

Carrington Research Extension Center to host row crop tour Aug. 21

North Dakota State University’s Carrington Research Extension Center will hold its annual row crop tour Aug. 21. Farmers, agriculturalists and NDSU Extension staff are invited to attend.Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.— a different start time from past years.

Scout wet meadow areas for spotted water hemlock before cutting hay

Spotted water hemlock, a plant native to North Dakota, has recently been identified in several counties across the state. The plant is highly poisonous to humans and all livestock, especially cows and horses. The toxin in the plant is cicutoxin and is most harmful in the spring.
