Senseless shooting of eagle south of Drayton

By Nick Vorlage The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is investigating after receiving a report about the senseless killing of a bald eagle south of the city of Drayton last week. Paul Freeman, Game Warden for District 719, which covers the northeast corner of the state explained the situation.

Canadian border towns could offer lessons for ND development

By Michael Standaert, North Dakota News Cooperative The towns of Langdon in northeastern North Dakota and Morden in southern Manitoba province were once mirror images of each other. In the 1950s they each had populations hovering around 1,800 people.

Pembina County resident completes Junior Iditarod

Over last weekend, Eva Robinson, 17, Cavalier, completed the two-day 150 mile Jr. Iditarod, placing 19th with her Diva dog sled team. We reached out to Eva on Monday who was still in Alaska, recuperating from the event.

The 2024 Pembina County 4-H Clothing Revue was held Feb. 10, 2024, at the Cavalier E Free Church with 26 youth representing 38 entries. The 4-H Clothing Revue includes entries for Buy & Show, Sew & Show, Decorate Your Duds, and county-only categories for sewing unwearable categories.

Red Cross responds to 92-unit apartment fire in Grand Forks

FARGO, ND – The American Red Cross is helping people displaced by the 92-unit apartment building fire that occurred in Grand Forks, ND, on Feb. 19. Twenty-three people and five pets stayed overnight at the shelter Red Cross responders opened at the Alerus Center.

North Dakota is not among the eight states granted yearround access to 15 percent ethanol blends. North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum signed the original letter to EPA in April 2022, but rescinded the request six months later to support a national solution.
