Pollinator week is June 17-23

Gov. Doug Burgum has proclaimed June 17-23, 2024, as Pollinator Week in North Dakota. North Dakota is home to many pollinators, including more than 840,000 honey bee colonies.

74 participate in American Legion Boys State on NDSCS Campus

Rhett Lindell of Park River has been elected Governor of North Dakota Boys State, a gathering of 74 participants last week on the North Dakota State College of Science campus in Wahpeton.

Blue-green algae: Know it. Avoid it. Report it.

The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality reminds residents that hot weather and accumulated nutrients can lead to blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) blooms in water bodies across the state. Blue-green algae can cause Harmful Algal Blooms, producing toxins in the water called cyanotoxins.
