People, when they read the Bible, especially for the first time, are often shocked by the violence in the Old Testament. The brutality of people and the massive destruction to people and property takes their breath away. Certainly it is true that violence marks much of the Old Testament narrative.

Prism of prose

When I was in elementary school we were still living on the farm. Harold Johnson lived a mile to the east of us. That was in the 1950s before the Interstate Highway 29 Freeway was built. In those days anyone living within a couple of miles was considered your neighbor. Good neighbors were a gift.

Registration open for 2025 ND Reclamation Conference

The 2025 North Dakota Reclamation Conference, will bring together industry leaders, researchers and stakeholders to explore the evolving reclamation needs associated with the state’s growing energy sector. The conference will be held March 4 and 5 at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City.
