With all the big spring tournaments going on, it is easy to use a sports metaphor to understand what has been happening in Bismarck with our district representatives. The team has gone rogue and has forgotten that the coach, the leader, is actually US - the voters.

Drayton is springing with activity

It has been another busy week here at Drayton School! This week in Drayton, the seventh, eighth, and tenth graders had state testing. We are certain they were relieved to have put those tests behind them, as they can definitely be long and boring.

I write about my kids all the time, I realize that. I hope it doesn’t bother you because it certainly doesn’t bother me. The journey that eventually brought me to become their mother was unforgettable and this is the time of year when I think about it more than other times.

My Two Cents | The spring migration is on

I’m sure if I’ve heard it once I’ve heard it a million times, “this has been a weird winter/spring.” This week will mark the one month anniversary of spring 2023, but the weather hasn’t been anything like it.

While going through the beverage line at the benefit on Saturday evening, a good friend stopped to visit for a second. Giving my arm a quick squeeze, he leaned in and asked if I’m still driving my bride’s car? My response was a quick, “every chance I get.” But to be honest that was a bit of a fib.

Spring has sprung! Knock on wood…. My kids have been playing outside in sweatshirts, shorts, and winter boots. They come back into the house filthy from playing in the water and melting snow, and I am totally fine with that.
