I really love trying new things, and learning new things. It’s how I satisfy my curiosity and boredom. This week I am trying on the Editor hat for our favorite newspaper. Hilary, I am happy to report, is off getting married, so I am trying my best to pick up her duties. It’s a challenge!

Shortly after we arrived at family camp on Friday afternoon, just two weeks ago, we found out that one of the new events this year would be a Pinewood Derby race. The race was scheduled to take place on the last Saturday of camp which is also the day of the annual car show.

Sometimes childhood desires come true When I was young I always wanted to race pinewood derby cars. There was one simple problem. I was not a boy. This year at family camp there was a pinewood derby race during what is now the annual car show. The camp had gotten 11 kits that they were selling.

Letter to the Editor

DEAR EDITOR. I do not play golf. In my entire life I have only played one round of golf—unless you count miniature. I subscribe to the premise that “golf is a good walk spoiled”. So, I settled for the good walk when I took a walk around the course.
