Many of my readers are of a certain age that they remember when certain television programs, usually seasonal specials, were only broadcast once a year on network television. Those were the days roughly prior to 1980 or so, before cable TV was widespread.

When I first heard that we were going to experience a few days of above freezing temperatures my internal alarm went off and I started thinking about the possibilities of ice. I didn’t obsess about it, I didn’t lose sleep over it, and I most assuredly didn’t start complaining about it.

Starting with Thursday itself I was able to enjoy four very nice days during Thanksgiving break.Thanksgiving day was one of the quietest holidays I have ever celebrated and truth be told it was wonderful.

On Monday, Merv and Phyllis Holter and Saralee Hoselton had dinner at the Sugar Bowl Senior Citizen’s Center. Saralee stayed for an afternoon of cards and socializing. Lisa Jackson and Alyna Jackson of Woodbury and St. Paul arrived at the home of Saralee Hoselton Wednesday evening.
