So, call me weird. These days, folks like to binge-watch their favorite series like Yellowstone or Game of Thrones or the Sopranos.Not me, when I have some spare time I like to watch shows with some historical context, so I browse through documentaries on my favorite streaming service.

At about 3:15 am this morning, I woke up and for some odd reason I started thinking about this column. I came up with a topic, decided what I wanted to say (in my head), came up with a fitting intro and was very impressed with myself.I told myself I should get out of bed and write it down.

It has come to my realization, that we are far too “plugged in” at my house. As a parent, I have avoided things like an iPad for entertainment in a restaurant, or YouTube playing on a screen in my car to keep the kids quiet.When I had little kids, that control over digital content was easy.
