Edith Louise (Little) Monette was born May 13, 1928 in Northcote, MN to George and Amanda (Briemon) Little. She grew up and attended school at Pembina where she graduated from high school in 1946. Edith worked at the Citizen State Bank and was the first female to be hired at Motor Coach Industries. She retired in 1986.
On July 24, 1953, she married Arthur S. Monette in Pembina, ND.
She was a member of the Pembina Historical Society. She enjoyed square dancing, bowling, reading, crossword puzzles, golf, and playing cards.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, on October 20th, 2004. They have five children: Laura (Lyle) Ladouceur of Colorado Springs, CO; Jean (Mike) Parsons also of Colorado Springs, CO; Mark (Olivia) Monette of Lubbock, TX; Diane (Ron) Binning of Salem, OR; Ruth (Mike) Kahl of Salem, OR; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
In 2016 she moved to Colorado Springs to live with Jean and Mike Parsons. On October 27, 2020 she passed away in an assisted living facility.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters.
An informal celebration of life will be held at the Pembina Community Center at 10:00 a.m. on July 10, 2021. There will be a procession around Pembina, and a burial at the Pembina Cemetery. Fellowship after at the Pembina Golf Course. Dress is casual, please come as you are.
