Exodus 24 tells of Moses’ second ascent to the top of Mt. Sinai. Verse 17 says, “the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mount...” (v:17). Chapter 33, verse 11 says, “the Lord spake unto Moses face to face,” but this was not in God’s glorious brightness. So, in verse 18, he requests of God, “shew me thy glory.”
