Cindy Kay Meader was born August 30, 1957 in Duluth, Minnesota the daughter of Francis and Gail Dorion Pede.
Cindy passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021. She resided in Drayton, ND at the time of her passing.
Cindy graduated from Humboldt High School in May of 1976. She married Randy Meader July 23, 1976 in Lake Bronson, Minnesota. They made their home in Karlstad, Minnesota until their move to Bowesmont, North Dakota in 1982. They raised three daughters together. Randy passed away in 1994.
Cindy moved to Drayton with Sam Lingarde her companion of 22 years. Sam was a big part of her life along with daughters and grandchildren.
Cindy married LeRay Cormier in August of 2019. She was a stay at home mom and wife but worked numerous jobs in her lifetime. Her favorite occupation was working for Drayton Public School. She enjoyed driving to Grafton with the vocational education students in the school van.
In 2020 she retired and enjoyed spending time with her family. Anyone that met Cindy never forgot her, she made a lasting impression.
Cindy had a heart of gold. She was always willing to help others. Her grandkids were everything to her. She never missed a grandchild’s birthday and was their biggest cheerleader at school games. Cindy had a special bond with her grandson, Dylan and great granddaughter, Athena Jessica (she gave her the nickname, Babenna). She loved kids and it always showed. She loved spending time with them and making lasting memories while always smiling. Cindy enjoyed slots, bingo and her special outings with Jessica for lunch and a pedicure.
She is survived by her husband, LeRay Cormier, Drayton; daughters, Mary (Shawn) Barta, Fargo, Rebecca (Mark) Saeland, Warroad, MN and Jessica (Juan) Navarro, Grafton; father, Francis Pede, St. Vincent, MN, brothers, Terri (Barb) Pede, Oceanside, CA and Bob (Collette) Pede, Hallock, MN; sisters, Sherrie (Don) Smith, Gilbert, AZ, Connie Pede, Strandquist, MN and Patti Suk, Rochester, MN; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary “Gail” Pede; husband, Randy Meader; brother, Ronald Pede; two grandsons, Mitchell and Malcom; and her grandparents.
The family request that the color purple be worn, as that was Cindy’s favorite color. “In Honor of Mama.”

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 10th, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in Drayton United Methodist Church. Interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service.
