Letter from the Publisher

According to the calendar, summer is officially upon us. I wish I could slow the clock a bit and stretch these warm days out a little bit longer. In my email and social media I keep seeing messages such as a link to register for the ice skating season, and an ad for fall sports physicals.

Musings...Newspapering does get into your blood ...

Just over a year ago at this time I was certain, in my mind at least, that I had written my last column for this newspaper and that my career in the newspaper industry was completely over.

My Two Cents | Another whirlwind weekend

By all accounts I think most people will say that it has been a great summer so far. Summer is a relative term, of course. The first day of actual summer was yesterday, June 21. However, most people equate summer as the first day kids are let out of school or Memorial Day, whichever comes first.

Bowesmont Lives Grace’s Graduation Party

Ann Osborne celebrated her birthday on June 7 when Donnie and Lisa Staskivige and Ryan and Jenn Corrick and their family took her out for dinner at Hastings Landing. On Wednesday Gayle McConnell spent the day with Kris Tucker in Grand Forks.

My Two Cents | The beloved state of my birth

I was thinking so hard about what to write for this week’s column it was enough to give me a headache. At first I was thinking about writing about Minnesota’s recent legislative session and all of the social policies they passed this year.
