My Two Cents | You’ve got to start somewhere

As you can tell by our front page, another big catfishing tournament has come and gone for Drayton, North Dakota. The tournament has evolved over the past 20 plus years, but I can say I had a hand in the first one more than 20 years ago.

From the pastor’s desk

Think of the life experiences of Israel’s shepherd king, David, and his 23rd Psalm. David, when a young man, went to the battle front and confronted a seasoned warrior giant named Goliath.

Musings...just don’t call me the “Walking Dude”

Stephen King fans will likely get that reference, everyone else just take my word for it - I am not the infamous Walking Dude from King’s novel “The Stand.” He was one evil dude; me, I like to think I’m a pretty nice guy. Having thoroughly confused everyone, maybe I should just get to the point.

Life in the slow lane?

If you would have told me a year ago that I would be sitting around a morning fire at a campsite writing my column, I would have thought that you were crazy. There is nothing quite like sitting around a campfire in the morning with your cup of coffee or tea and breakfast.

Along the way

| The highway of life’s changing scenery is a rapid restoration of memory and experience. Through the winding roads, inspiration rests in the people we meet who have blazed a path in their own authentic ways.

From the pastor’s desk

A man invited friends to visit the home he had recently purchased. When they walked in, they were surprised to see lighted candles in every room. They wondered why he never turned on the lights, which hung at the center of every room, so they asked about the candles and why he never used the lights.
