It’s finally all white outside and for me that ignites crock pot season. At noon today I pulled out my prepped crock of soup and put it on high for tonight’s supper. When the kids walked into the house they said “mmm, it smells good in here.” That makes my heart dance a little bit.

Oh for the love of food! If you read my column last week you’d know that there were two new items on my family’s Christmas menu. Brisket, which turned out to be extremely great thanks to my brother-in-law’s mad smoker skills, and copy-cat Panera mac and cheese, which I tried out for the first time.

An Eclectic Editor: It was a busy weekend, to say the least!

Phil and I are in Tennessee so we spent Christmas Eve with one family and Christmas Day with another. We had some back and forthing to do, but the rides gave me time to work. There’s no days off when it comes to news and printing deadlines! On Friday, Dec.
