This has been the calmest and warmest winter I’ve ever experienced living in North Dakota. I was raised here (Langdon) and only left for a handful of years following work opportunities in Wisconsin and Kansas. I came back to North Dakota in 2003.

The only time I’ve seen something nearly as beautiful was one of the times I stayed outside of Port au Prince in Haiti in 2010 and 2011. I was there with a group on the first trip to help with reconstruction efforts three months after the 2010 earthquake that left the island in shambles.

When I bought our house 23 years ago one of the many things that I loved about it was all of the greenery in the yard. Unfortunately, almost all of that greenery was very mature and one by one we have had to remove them.
