Margaret’s birthday On Wednesday Merv and Phyllis Holter had dinner with Saralee Hoselton at the Sugar Bowl Senior Citizen’s Center with ice cream and cake to celebrate Margaret Staskivige’s 80th birthday. Unfortunately, Margaret was unable to attend.

This has been the calmest and warmest winter I’ve ever experienced living in North Dakota. I was raised here (Langdon) and only left for a handful of years following work opportunities in Wisconsin and Kansas. I came back to North Dakota in 2003.

The only time I’ve seen something nearly as beautiful was one of the times I stayed outside of Port au Prince in Haiti in 2010 and 2011. I was there with a group on the first trip to help with reconstruction efforts three months after the 2010 earthquake that left the island in shambles.
