The Pembina County 4-H Consumer Decision Making senior judging team brought home honors in the first virtual ND 4-H Consumer Decision Making contest held July 21st. Participating counties facilitated the teams for the written exam and the youth delivered oral reasons to judges statewide online.

A funny thing happened... Business taxpayers in Rhode Island finally got their state tax refunds recently, including 176 of them who received extra special checks. Some were signed by Mickey Mouse and others bore Walt Disney’s moniker, reports the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC].

The coronavirus has created a perfect storm for scammers. One scam to arise this summer is scammers posing as contact tracers working for local or state health departments. Contact tracing is an important part of efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Once again the North Dakota Legislature is trying to obstruct constitutional amendments proposed by petition of the people. At the present time, constitutional amendments initiated by citizens go straight to the ballot for an up or down vote. If approved, the amendment goes into effect.

Dear Editor, So what do I get? A certificate of completion? A medal? A doctor’s statement certifying me as insane? Today I completed walking Drayton’s Greenway, AKA “the dike”—in segments, of course. Parts of the walk are stunningly beautiful, others, not so much.
