I am starting my sixth year as the owner/editor/publisher of Valley News & Views. What will happen to the paper was one of the questions that both Lyle and I heard repeatedly after Larry passed away suddenly. Neither one of us had any intention of buying the newspaper.

Legislative Update

Time flies. We are already in harvest and school is around the corner. Things are starting to look a bit more normal, though I hear a lot of “will anything get back to normal again ever?” questions. There is no easy answer to this. This year has been strange indeed.

Dear Rusty: It seems like we are always encouraged to wait until our full retirement age or age 70 to claim our Social Security. For me, benefits at age 62 were a good jump start to my retirement. How about listing the many benefits to early (age 62) retirement?
