Christmas and year end brings time for reflection on the past year. You reflect on the gifts you received throughout the year. The greatest gifts are immaterial. You often receive those gifts without the giver even knowing it is a gift. You think of time spent with people in fellowship.

Peace on earth, good will towards men....

This time of year, peace on earth and good will towards men is a very common sentiment in Christmas Cards and holiday movies. This begs a question. Is this just a saying or do people really mean it or want it? Many say that they do, however, their actions do not say the same thing.

Christmas list...

As a child I was asked for my Christmas wish list. As a parent I asked my children for their Christmas wish list. Did I get everything that I wanted? No. Did my children get everything that they asked for? No. It served as a place to start and as a gauge for what they wanted.

My heart broke, just a little bit mind you…

In these last few days before the arrival of Christmas I have had a couple of moments where I very nearly cried, and if circumstances had been different I probably would have. The first occurred when I was visiting with some youth, in their early teens, about the fact that Christmas is nearly here.
