The Drayton Fire Department was called out in the early hours of Sunday morning to combat two fires in Joliette. Two residences were destroyed by fire, one at a home occupied by the Don West family, the other, unoccupied, and belonging to Joe Brodeur.
Firemen from Emerson and Pembina also answered the call for help and all three fire departments fought the fires.
