Proposals sought for Ag in the Classroom programs

The North Dakota Department of Agriculture (NDDA) and the North Dakota Agriculture in the Classroom Council are seeking proposals for developing and conducting educational programs and materials to help young people understand the importance of agriculture in North Dakota and in their own lives.

For the week ending May 4, 2025, there were 4.6 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 11% very short, 30% short, 57% adequate, and 2% surplus.

North Dakota Farmers Union president won’t seek reelection

North Dakota Farmers Union President Mark Watne announced he will not seek reelection to a 13th term as president at the organization’s annual meeting in December. Watne was first elected in November 2013 and also serves as president of Farmers Union Insurance and Farmers Union Service Association.
