Local Fire Department Awarded Life-Saving Rescue Resources to Help Defend Against Grain Bin Accidents

Drayton Fire Department is one of 152 rural fire departments to receive a grain rescue tube and training through Nationwide’s Grain Bin Safety campaign

    Des Moines, IA – On Tuesday, July 21, local first responders with Drayton Fire Department were awarded a grain rescue tube and specialized training from Nationwide and CHS. The resources will be used to help protect against grain entrapments, which result in dozens of deaths across rural America each year and spiked in 2019 and 2020 due to last season’s wet harvest.
