When Julie Pederson first climbed behind the wheel of a racecar, it started with a challenge.
The Drayton native's father, Dean Osowski, had raced stock cars and shared driving duties with one of Julie's classmates. According to River Cities Speedway, that classmate teased Julie that she wouldn't have the guts to get behind the wheel.
