Gavin Ryan This week, sophomores and juniors traveled on Dec. 8 to The Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier, North Dakota, for Scrubs Camp. They went to the Scrubs Camp to learn all about the medical field.

My Two Cents | Tis the Season

This past weekend my wife Chris and I made the trip to Windom, Minnesota to visit my 86-year old mother and my sister and brother-in-law. The trip is a good six and a half hours, so that gave my wife and I plenty of time to visit.

What was a leisurely end to summer and a calm stroll through fall has turned into what feels like a sprint. It’s still fall until December 21, but with the winter weather and the Christmas music on the radio, it feels as though winter is here and winter means Christmas.

My Two Cents | Thankful

Here’s to hoping everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends. I sure did. Our Thanksgiving was filled with delicious food, visiting with family, and giving thanks for the blessings we enjoy. That’s what “thanksgiving” is supposed to be, right?

Let me preface the controversial statement I’m about to make with this: I love the principles behind Thanksgiving and agree that it is a lovely holiday that is special for many families.

Thursday afternoon, while we were waiting for the turkey to finish cooking, I jumped on the Best Buy website to order a new camera for the yearbook staff to use. I thought I was being very smart ordering it with our Best Buy credit card so we could earn the $65.
