I have a bit of whiplash from Mother Nature this week.We were forecasted to go from the 40s to the 70s and back to the 30s in about three days, and I’m not entirely convinced my brain, or my wardrobe, has caught up yet.

Let me start this by confessing right up front that I voted for Donald Trump for President. Twice.I didn’t vote for The Donald because I thought he was the best candidate; I voted for him because I wasn’t impressed with his opponent.

I last left you canal side at the wonderful rental condo we shared with our son and daughter-in-law near Anna Maria Island on the Florida Gulf. It was a little before 2 p.m. that faithful Tuesday when our private tour boat navigated the canal, pulling up behind our rental unit.

Over the 250 years of the United States, presidents have been labeled as “wartime” Presidents and “peacetime” Presidents, when in reality, every president has been involved in some type of military conflict or another. If I were to name them all, it would probably fill this entire page, if not more.

Last month Di and I escaped the NoDak cold for a week in the Florida sun. In the past we’ve enjoyed trips to Miami and the Keys. In recent years, Di and her girlfriends have had great getaways in the Clearwater area. This time, we decided on Anna Maria Island and the surrounding area.
