This week is a busy one! As a family, we are wrapping up the skating season with a final rehearsal (tonight) and the skating show slated for this weekend. If you want to come and see some local kids and teenagers show off the routines they’ve been practicing so hard, there are two opportunities.

While I am pretending to be a bachelor this winter I have not been watching any network TV. However, the TV is on almost all of the time I am home making sure her majesty, the cat named Calli, is well fed and has a clean litter box. What I have been watching is a lot of Youtube.

While thinking about what to write for this week’s column, I came across a book in my vast collection entitled “Looking for Candles in the Window” by Douglas Ramsey and Larry Skroch. The book recalls the events of what was called the Red River Valley Blizzard in the spring of 1941.

This weather is really confusing my dog. He’s still a puppy and I think he’s completely confused about the outside. His excited mood changes instantly when we open the door to snow and cold.

Now that February is over and March has taken its place of honor on all of our wall calendars, thank you Drayton Drug, I have moved on from the American Heart Association’s Ride 100 Miles in February fundraiser. Everything turned out much better than I ever dared to dream. I rode 833.
