Letter from the Publisher

At about 3:15 am this morning, I woke up and for some odd reason I started thinking about this column. I came up with a topic, decided what I wanted to say (in my head), came up with a fitting intro and was very impressed with myself.I told myself I should get out of bed and write it down.

Monday afternoon, I was leaving the Langdon office. I knew I hadn’t had lunch, and I knew I wanted a snack for the ride home, and I needed to figure out an idea for dinner. I fully believe the worst part of being an adult is having to decide what to fix for dinner each night.

It has come to my realization, that we are far too “plugged in” at my house. As a parent, I have avoided things like an iPad for entertainment in a restaurant, or YouTube playing on a screen in my car to keep the kids quiet.When I had little kids, that control over digital content was easy.
