Indigenous game of snow snake featured Feb. 21 at Pembina State Museum

Learn about and play the Indigenous game of snow snake Saturday, Feb. 21, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Pembina State Museum. Similar to ice gliders, the game features a “snake” carved from a long wooden pole or stick that is thrown across icy ground to see whose travels the farthest.

On Wednesday, Feb. 4, the PreK classroom at Drayton Public School participated in Global School Play Day, a worldwide movement that includes 81 nations and over 2 million students. It promotes unstructured, screen-free play and child-directed learning.
