NDFU issues statement on Senate farm bill

North Dakota Farmers Union President Matt Perdue issued the following statement on June 23 in response to the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee’s release of The Agricultural Act of 2026: “The Senate farm bill proposal includes many of the same helpful provisions included in the Housepassed version.

Prairie Fare: Can weeds become part of your dinner?

With the guidance of a knowledgeable forester, some weeds in your backyard could end up on your plate. I braced myself and tried to pull the weed. The weed was stronger than I was, and I almost fell backward onto the ground.
