Approximately 12,000,000 tons of sugar beets will be harvested this fall in North Dakota’s Red River Valley. The beets are brought to piling stations where they are added atop other piles of beets, which will then be processed throughout the rest of the season into white sugar. A semi-truck load, weighing approximately 25 tons, is dumped and seems to be lost in a large pile of beets...
