What does a coup look like?

To its horror, America witnessed on January 6, 2021, an insurrection. Millions watched, in real time. Domestic terrorists laid siege to the U.S. Capitol building in an effort to disrupt Congress from performing its constitutional duty to count and certify the Electoral College results.

2021 scholarships offered

A one-year $1500.00 scholarship will be awarded to two women who will begin first or second year college studies in 2021. Only one of the applications will be forwarded to the national chairman for consideration.

Ole and Lena

This week we all came back from our two-week Christmas break from school. I think all students and some faculty agree that it should have been longer, and some even wish that it started at a different day. Many students switched their class schedules around at the start of this week.

Lawmakers aim to reintroduce paid family leave program

BISMARCK -- Rep. Karla Rose Hanson, D-Fargo, said that she plans to modify and reintroduce a bill for a state-facilitated paid family leave program, a proposal which failed in 2019.

Senior Citizen Update

Pembina County Meals & Transportation has received a grant from the Drayton Area Community Foundation in the amount of $990.00. This grant will be used to provide free rides to medical appointments to Drayton residents. The ride may be to a medical doctor, eye doctor or dentist.

Quality loss assistance signup now available for 18-19 disasters

BISMARCK – The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) announced that signup for the Quality Loss Adjustment (QLA) Program began Jan. 6 and will end March 5, 2021.
