100 years ago, with passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, women got to vote for the very first time in a national election. North Dakota Governor Lynn J. Frazier (from Pembina County) had signed into North Dakota law - in 1917 - a measure that gave women the right to vote in “all city, county and state elections” although they were still barred from voting in federal elections.
