Titans face tough Region 2 schedule

The Drayton-Valley-Edinburg Titans faced two of the top seven teams in Region 2 basketball last week. The Titans fell to the North Border Eagles, 58-41 on Monday, Jan. 23 and lost to Cavalier 75-41 on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

Titans show fight in loss to state-ranked Tommies

Head Coach Daniel Biggers knew his young basketball team would have their hands full with the state-ranked Thompson Tommies last Thursday in Drayton. Despite a lopsided, 69-20 loss, Biggers admired the fact his team never gave up, despite the odds.

D-V-E Boys snap two-game skid

The Drayton-Valley-Edinburg Titans boys’ basketball team pulled out a win over Dakota Prairie Saturday afternoon in Edinburg, 52-46. Led by Calvin Otto’s 5 points, the Titans built a 16-12 lead after one quarter.

Titans Top Mustangs at Midway

The Drayton-Valley-Edinburg Titans girls’ basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a convincing 52-29 win over the Midway- Minto Mustangs Jan. 19 at Midway. Coach Daniel Biggers said this was the first complete game effort for the girls this year.

Aggies pull away from Titans for big home win

The Drayton-Valley-Edinburg Titans and Park River-Fordville-Lankin girls’ basketball teams played a pretty close first quarter. After that, the Lady Aggies dominated on their way to a 51-31 win over the Lady Titans in Park River on Thursday, Jan. 12.

D-V-E falls to visiting Lady Bearcats

The Drayton-Valley-Edinburg Lady Titans had a tough outing against the visiting Northstar Lady Bearcats Jan. 10 in Crystal, falling 48-26. Northstar put the game out of reach in the second quarter where they outscored D-V-E 21-4, to take an insurmountable 31-8 halftime lead.

The Drayton-Valley-Edinburg Titans boys’ basketball team split a pair of games versus Region 2 opponents last week. The Titans fell to the North Border Eagles 74-20 on Tuesday, Jan. 10 but defeated the Larimore Polar Bears, 53-52 on Jan. 13.

The Drayton-Valley-Edinburg (D-V-E) Titans girls’ basketball team improved to 1-4 in the Region 2 standings and 3-6 overall with a 40-35 win against Larimore on Thursday, Jan. 5, and a 39-29 win over Nelson County on Saturday, Jan. 7.
