Shane Herseth, 23, of Drayton, North Dakota passed away near Colfax, North Dakota on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Shane Scott Herseth was born January 13, 1997 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Scott and Katherine (Grzadzieleski) Herseth. He grew up in Drayton and graduated from Drayton High School in 2015. Shane went on to attend Northland Community Technical College in East Grand Forks and graduated from the welding program in 2017. He worked for several companies including DL Jones, Swingen and MW Iron Works. Shane loved the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, racing dirt bikes and just spending time outside were his greatest loves. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Shane leaves behind his father, Scott, of Drayton; his mother, Kadie (Darron) Benson, Kennedy; a sister, Ashley Herseth, Fargo, ND; two step brothers, Jamie (Allison) Benson, Minneapolis, MN and Brandon Benson, Fargo; a step sister, Maggie Benson, Fargo; a niece, Olivia; his paternal grandfather, Charles Herseth, Drayton; and his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Carol Grzadzieleski, Kennedy, MN. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janice Sharp; and an uncle, Richard Grzadzieleski .
Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, October 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Drayton. Interment will be held in the spring. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service. Fr. Robert Wapenski and Deacon Mike Grzadzieleski, presiding. Please follow CDC recommendations if you plan on attending.
