Lynn Fredrickson, 72, a lifelong resident of Drayton, ND, passed away with his loving wife, Renae, by his side on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in Rochester, MN.
Lynn Bruce Fredrickson was born in Drayton, ND, on January 30, 1953, to Elwood and Ann (Andersen) Fredrickson. He grew up on the family farm, with his Grandma and Grandpa Fredrickson living just across the yard. He spent his childhood years riding his bike around their section of land hunting gophers and working hard on the family farm, doing whatever needed to be done. He attended school in Kennedy, MN, graduating in 1971.
After high school, he worked road construction in Moorcroft, WY, for some time before moving back home and beginning his career at American Crystal Sugar in 1972. Over the years, he held several positions, including Crane Operator, Beet End Foreman, and Process Technician 1. He worked there for 43 years before retiring on April 23, 2015. He was proud to be a 43-year member of BCTGM Local 167G Unit 326.
Lynn married April Nunnley in 1974.
Together, they had three sons, Karl, Shawn, and Brent. Later in his life, Lynn met Renae Watkins Puppe, and the two fell in love.
They were united in marriage on December 4, 1993, and have been by each other’s sides ever since.
When Lynn’s dad passed away in 1987, he and his brother took over the family farm. They spent the next 15 years working together, along with the help of their boys. A family farm is a true family affair, so even Renae could be found out on the farm helping when needed. They spent those 15 years hard at work, but in 2003, they retired from farming.
After retiring from farming, Lynn and Renae bought a seasonal lake place at Ship’s Wheel, north of Baudette, MN. They made many memories there over the years.
They enjoyed their time there so much that in 2014, they decided to upgrade to a year-round place located at Cyrus Resort. They had many trips and adventures on their bucket list. They crossed many of those adventures off their list over the years, taking cruises and road trips. Unfortunately, Lynn’s health prevented them from completing their list before his passing.
Lynn was an amazing husband, father, and friend, but his favorite title was Grandpa. He loved fishing, but he loved it even more when he could take his kids and grandkids with him. Anytime they were up for a visit, he couldn’t wait to get them on the lake, no matter the time of year.
Lynn is survived by his loving wife, Renae Fredrickson; his sons, Karl (Sally), Lidgerwood, ND, Shawn (Sarah), Leonard, ND, and Brent (Marsha), Williams, MN; stepdaughers, Nicki (Scott) Kraft, Grafton, ND, and Stacy Puppe, Grand Forks, ND; stepson, Ryan (LeAnne) Puppe, Grafton, ND; grandchildren, Faith and Jarrett, Lidgerwood, ND, and Samantha and Allison, Leonard, ND; step-grandchildren, BreAnna (Cody) Montalbano, Sophia, and CJ, Dickenson, ND, Jacob Almen, Fargo, ND, Connor and Kayla Puppe, and Keston, Kylan, and Kinley Kraft, all of Grafton, ND, Michael Bellamy, Hoople, ND, and special step-grandson, Tayden Markel, Drayton, ND.
