James K. Cochran, age 94, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Elim Health Center in Fargo, ND.
James Chochran, son of the late Lee and Barbara (Stewart) Cochran, was born on January 15, 1931, in Drayton, ND. As a young man, James served his country in the U.S. Army. After his service, he worked at Halcrow Cash Supply and Farmers Union Oil for several years. In later years, he also worked part time at Helm Enterprises in Drayton.
On May 22, 1957, he married Marcella Cochran in Drayton. They lived all of their married years in Drayton, where they raised their three children. James was active in the Drayton Legion, City Council, and always gave a helping hand whenever help was needed.
James is survived by his three children, Gerald Carl (Cindy), Grand Forks, ND, Kim Terry (Joni), Fargo, ND, and Jacqueline Olson, Erskine, MN; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella; parents, Lee and Barbara Cochran; and sister, Marjory Steenerson.
A funeral will be held at Austin Funeral Chapel in Drayton, ND, on Saturday, January 17 at 11:00 a.m.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home for an hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Drayton Cemetery Fund at Koda Bank in Drayton.
