For at least 20 years my camera bag has included a spare battery for my camera body. Every time I changed my gear the first thing I checked was which battery the camera itself used. If it was different from what I was currently using, my first purchase was a second battery. Over the past two plus decades this has been very helpful on more occasions than I care to admit.
