Treasure Island was a training ground and processing center for Navy sailors on the West Coast. TI, as it was called, offered great views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, shipping lane traffic, and the Oakland-SF Bay Bridge. You arrived at TI the first time to attend Navy Damage Control ‘A’ School in August of 1971.
