This past Sunday, after several weather delays, we finally got to start rolling down the road between the field and the beet plant. Just like anything that a person hasn’t done for a while, it takes some time to get back into the swing of things.

Upgrade for Drayton EMS

Drayton Ambulance Service has an upgrade in the works for their department. A new Horton ambulance was ordered back in March and they recently received an update on the vehicle’s progress.

Joyce’s birthday lunch On Monday Saralee Hoselton took Joyce McFarland out for noon lunch at Hastings Landing in a belated celebration of Joyce’s birthday. During her Tuesday walk, Saralee Hoselton visited Betty Dahl and enjoyed her homemade raspberry jam from her daughter’s fruit.

NDSU Extension to host parent education day Oct. 21

North Dakota State University Extension Parent Resource Centers will host a day of parent education on Oct. 21 at the North Dakota 4-H Camp in Washburn, North Dakota.

NDFB Photo Contest winners announced

North Dakota Farm Bureau’s Promotion and Education Committee has announced the 2023 NDFB agriculture photo contest award recipients. The contest featured three categories: landscape, animals, and lifestyle. Each winner will receive $300.

First Care Health Center (FCHC) held their 28th annual Harvest Fest event on Saturday, Sept. 16 at the American Legion Coliseum in Park River. An online auction was also part of this year’s Harvest Fest event. The online auction opened for bidding and buying on Monday, Sept.

25th Annual Dakota Feeder Calf Show and Feedout set

NDSU Extension The 25th Annual Dakota Feeder Calf Show and Feedout is set for Oct. 21 in Turtle Lake, North Dakota. Interested consignors will deliver 500to 700-pound steer calves before 10 a.m. CDT on the day of the show. Each producer can consign one or two pens containing three or four calves.

The farmers have been busy getting the crops off the fields. Beet farmers have gone through pre-haul already and are waiting for full haul to start. The weather, however, has not been cooperative for harvest to start on time again this year.
