Hot and Hearty meals

Couple of dishes to have on hand for this time of year.

Wild Rice Casserole

1/2 cup wild rice, uncooked

1/2 cup white rice, uncooked

1/2 cup butter

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1 pound round steak cubes

1 pound pork steak cubed

2 cups celery diced

1 1/2 cups onion chopped

2 tablespoons seasoned salt

Can of cream of mushroom soup

2 beef bouillon cubes in hot water

Cook onions in butter. Add the meats, brown lightly. Add the remaining ingredients. Mix together, put in a greased 3-4 quart Casserole. Bake for 21/2 hours in a 350 degree oven. Stir twice while cooking.

Slow Cooker Chicken

1 cup sliced carrots

1/2 cup sliced celery

1/2 cup diced onion

2 1/2 pounds diced chicken

1 cup chicken broth

1 teaspoon seasoning salt

Place vegetables in slow cooker. Layer chicken over the vegetables. I’m a small bowl combine remaining ingredients. Pour over the chicken and vegetables. Cover. Set on high and cook for 2 1/2-3 hours.
